Kathie Lee Gifford recently made an unexpected appearance on "Today with Jenna & Friends," shocking not only her former co-host, Hoda Kotb, but also the audience with her striking new look.
On January 10th, Gifford's surprise visit to the show was intended to celebrate Kotb's last day at the "Today" show. However, the focus quickly shifted to Gifford's appearance, with many viewers noting a significant change.
As Kotb sat beside Jenna Bush Hager, Hager announced, “Before we move on, Hoda, there’s a message for you from someone who means a lot to you. Let’s watch.”
Gifford appeared on screen, dressed in a soft olive green top and a plaid scarf with shades of gray, white, and red. In her emotional farewell, she said, “From Tennessee, I wish I could be in New York with you. I treasure the memories we’ve made and long to embrace you. I’ve always loved the warmth of your smile. You are so dear to me, Hoda. I hope you feel all the love around you.”

Before concluding, Gifford expressed regret for missing the event, joking about her busy and important schedule, then playfully whispered "not" and waved goodbye.
Hager revealed the video was a ruse, and Gifford entered from the side to hug Kotb. They spent the next few minutes reminiscing about their time on “Today with Kathie Lee & Hoda” from 2008 to 2019, before Gifford's departure and Hager taking over the four-hour show.
As they wrapped up, Gifford toasted with a glass of wine, saying with tears, “May you step into a joyful, abundant, and meaningful life with your daughters, a blessing to witness. I will always cherish those moments, and when they arrived, I knew change was coming. Here’s to you, my dear friend; I love you deeply!”
On the “Today” show’s Facebook post, one commenter focused on Gifford's face, saying, “What has she done…didn’t recognize her.” Another commented, “Love Kathie Lee, but looks like she’s had work done.”
