Hoda Kotb’s first week away from Today seems to be going just as she planned! The mom of two shared a glimpse of her life in the suburbs with her daughters, Haley and Hope, after making an emotional exit from the long-running talk show.

On Tuesday, January 14, Hoda posted some pictures and a video capturing her morning routine of dropping the kids off at school. “School drop!!! Let’s goooo!” she exclaimed in her post. Her fans were thrilled to witness Hoda finally getting the chance to see her children off to school in the morning.

Haley, 8, wore a knit hat with her middle name, Joy, printed on it, while Hope, 5, was seen wearing a knit hat with her name printed on it. Hoda rocked a Today With Hoda & Jenna hat during the school drop off and had a huge smile on her face. She officially left the show on January 10 after 17 years.

The family of three bundled up in winter coats to combat the frigid air in the suburbs of New York City. Hoda moved to her new quiet neighborhood with the girls last year after entering the “repotting” phase of her life. So far, it seems like their new home is everything they dreamed of and more, and boasts plenty of space for the family of three.

“I love the term ‘repotting.’ It’s like you’re pulled up by your very roots, your foundation, everything that grounds you, and your roots are in the air and you’re scared. ‘Where am I going to land?’” the broadcaster told Today viewers late last year.

She said that she learned the term “repotting” from longtime pal Maria Shriver, and it has been part of her vocabulary ever since.

“Maria is my go-to person. You referred to it once as a ‘flat tire friend’ call—the one you reach out to when you're feeling low and lost, unsure of your next steps,” Hoda shared.

Maria, 69, was one of the many celebrities who voiced their support for Hoda when she announced she would be leaving Today to spend more time with her children and start a career in the wellness space.

"I'm incredibly proud of you... you listened to your instincts and pursued what you truly desired, despite your fears. ... It takes immense courage to let go of something you cherish and step into uncertainty," Maria said to Hoda. "It's truly courageous to believe, 'There's something greater waiting for me. I may not know what it is, but I'm ready to move forward.'"

Hoda posted another update featuring pictures from the school drop-off on Thursday, January 16. She captioned it, “Just another typical… everyday… amazing day xo.”

Don Gilet is set to make his first appearance as DI Mervin Wilson. In the upcoming series, DI Wilson is set to face a multitude of new challenges as he delves into a variety of intriguing cases. During the Christmas special, he found himself investigating a peculiar incident involving three men who were seemingly shot at the same time with the same firearm. Mervin didn't exactly win over the locals of Saint Marie initially, managing to get on the wrong side of his colleagues, including Naomi (played by Shantol Jackson), who found him difficult to work with, reports the Express. Audiences were offered insight into Mervin's background, discovering that he had traveled to the island to reunite with his mother for the first time. He confided in his boss, Selwyn (played by Don Warrington), which laid the foundation for a developing friendship between them. Unfortunately, it was revealed that Mervin's mother had recently died. In light of this, Selwyn encouraged the detective to extend his visit to Saint Marie, suggesting it might help him feel a deeper connection to his deceased mother. When talking about Mervin's adaptation to life in Saint Marie, Don commented: "For him, everything in Saint Marie contradicts the established norms. When discussing his involvement in the long-running BBC series, Don admitted to feeling a mix of nerves and excitement about portraying a significant character. He remarked, "It probably won't come as a shock to hear that the experience was equally thrilling and daunting. I compare it to one of those exhilarating rides at an amusement park." "I'm about to take the plunge, fully aware that it might be frightening, yet I'm determined to go for it. You're challenging yourself. As you settle into the seat, thoughts race through your mind: 'What have I just signed up for?!' But there's a thrill in the air because I realize I'm starting this fresh adventure." He continued: "It's a weird feeling for an actor when you get any job, no matter what role it is, because they like your craft and what you did in the audition. When I was in the room, there were four people to impress, and I managed to do it. It was a great reminder to me that, yeah, you can still do this. It felt like a little personal air-punch-without-anyone-looking moment."
