Prince William, the 42-year-old successor and eldest son of King Charles, is reportedly experiencing "enormous generational pressure" as he thinks about the future of the British monarchy, according to a royal expert. With his three children next in line to the throne, the legacy of the crown weighs heavily on him.
Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich provided insights to Fox News, stating, "Prince William is committed to his duty, a trait instilled in him by Queen Elizabeth II, who mentored him every Sunday about his royal responsibilities."
She also noted that "He's also under significant generational pressure given the increasing public favorability of the monarchy, which is most important to both him and (his wife) Princess Catherine.
Fordwich emphasized William's cautious approach towards Prince Harry and Prince Andrew, suggesting that they seem to be "wary" of the future king. Regarding Prince Harry's critical revelations in his memoir Spare, Fordwich observed that the Prince and Princess of Wales took it as a personal insult.
Furthermore, she mentioned that William sees Andrew, living in Windsor with Sarah Ferguson, as a threat to the monarchy's reputation following his withdrawal from royal duties in 2019. As reported by Sky News Australia, William is resolved to avoid any public connection with his brother or uncle to safeguard his prospective role, as detailed by the Express.
In a positive development for the royal couple, the Prince and Princess of Wales have been appointed as joint patrons of The Royal Marsden. This significant announcement was made through the Royal Marsden's X account.
The tweet announced: "We are delighted to announce that The Prince and Princess of Wales have become Joint Patrons for @royalmarsdenNHS. This Joint Patronage was revealed following Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales' visit to our Chelsea hospital earlier today."
